Will ABC Still Air ‘The Golden Bachelor’s ‘Celebrity Family Feud’ Episode After The Golden Divorce?

It’s a sad day for Bachelor Nation and Celebrity Family Feud fans alike. In a dramatic Good Morning America interview, The Golden Bachelor‘s Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced their plans to get a divorce just three months after they tied the knot in a live Golden Wedding special on ABC.

In the emotional Friday morning announcement, Turner explained that the two “had a number of heart-to-heart conversations” and came to the mutual conclusion that “it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage.” After America watched the two seniors fall in love, meet each other’s families, and take their vows on television, the big reveal came as somewhat of a shock and sparked a number of questions.

Were the two unwilling to relocate? Did Gerry’s Hollywood Reporter exposé cause tension behind the scenes? And crucially, would ABC still air the upcoming Golden Bachelor episode of Celebrity Family Feud?!

For those who don’t follow the Golden Duo’s every move, on April 7, a mere five days before the divorce announcement, the Turner and Nist families shared social media shots of them filming an episode of Celebrity Family Feud.

“Had a GREAT time at Celebrity Family Feud with the blended family,” Turner, 72, wrote on Instagram alongside photos of him and Nist, his daughters Angie and Jenny, Nist’s children Jen and Tommy, and even one with singer Meghan Trainor.

When Will The Golden Bachelor‘s Celebrity Family Feud Episode Air on ABC?

Decider reached out to ABC reps to confirm Turner and Nist’s episode is still airing after the bombshell divorce announcement; we have yet to hear back, but we will update this post when we do. Until then, Turner’s daughter Angie gave us an idea of when we can expect the episode, should it air.

Following filming, Angie shared several Celebrity Family Feud shots to Instagram, captioning the post, “MY LIFELONG DREAM was finally fulfilled! Since I was little I wanted to be on family feud. I would dream about it and assemble my team in my mind. Yesterday…it happened!!!! We played celebrity family feud!!! It was so much fun. Our team was my Dad, Theresa, my sister, me, Tommy and Jen! Tune in sometime in August!”

If the episode does air, it sounds like we’ll be getting it this summer. But Angie also replied to a comment noting she was unaware of a specific date at this time.

Who’s Competing Against The Golden Bachelor‘s Gerry And Theresa On Celebrity Family Feud?

Curious who the Turners and Nists will be going up against in the competition? Nist’s daughter Jen Woolston revealed that news on Instagram as well.

“Was so nervous but it really was so fun,” Woolston wrote alongside a collection of photos from set. “After we filmed our episode we got to sit in the audience to watch the Golden Bach ladies play… lots of laughs. Steve Harvey is so so funny. so anyway it was Gerry, my mom, me, Angie, Tommy and Jenny vs Joey [Graziadei], Kelsey [Anderson], Charity [Lawson], Dotun [Olubeko], Zach [Shallcross] and Kaity [Biggar].”

There you have it, folks. Looks like the last three Bachelor and Bachelorette couples will be facing off with the Golden Bachelor family. We love them, but it would have been significantly more satisfying to watch Gerry and Theresa play against the Golden Gals, don’t you think?

If the episode does air, it’s unclear if the divorce will be addressed in any way. Either way, it’s sure to be at least a little awkward to watch, considering it was filmed hours before their split was shared with fans.
