‘The Garfield Movie’ Comes To Digital, But When Will the 2024 ‘Garfield’ Movie Stream on Netflix?
You haven’t seen the last of Aang— and now he’s an adult! Paramount revealed some new details about the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender movie centering on an older Aang and a new villain at CinemaCon 2024.
The animated movie, which will be called Aang: The Last Airbender, already has a reputable voice actor cast and is slated to premiere in 2026. (UPDATE 4/18/23: Variety reports today that Aang, which was set to debut on October 10, 2025, will now be premiering on January 10, 2026. This article has been updated to reflect that date shift.)
For those who don’t know Aang, he’s the last known airbender who was trapped in ice for 100 years. Now defrosted, he embarks on his pursuit of destiny to bring peace to the world.
Nickelodeon first introduced the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise in 2005 as an animated series and it has since spawned several spinoffs, tie-ins, and now adaptations. Fans of the live-action Netflix series certainly must be pumped for the new movie.

Who’s in the Aang: The Last Airbender voice cast?
Eric Nam is set to voice the adult Aang in this first in a trilogy of films. The movie will also feature an unknown villain voiced by Dave Bautista. Dionne Quan, Jessica Matten, and Roman Zaragoza will voice the characters Toph, Katara, and Sokka.
Additionally, Dante Basco will return to voice Zuko, the now-Fire Lord.
What is Aang: The Last Airbender about?
Paramount has also revealed the premise/plot of Aang: The Last Airbender, which will tell the story of an older Aang in the years following the ending of the original The Last Airbender show on Nickelodeon. In the show, Aang must master the four elements to stop the Fire Nation’s violent conquest and save the world.
In addition to the animated movie, a new sequel series will explore what the future of a new Earthbender Avatar following The Legend of Korra.
When is the Aang: The Last Airbender expected release date?
Aang: The Last Airbender will be released on January 20, 2026.
The original Avatar: The Last Airbender animated series as well as the live-action series and The Legend of Korra are available to stream on Netflix and Paramount+.
