All good things must come to an end. Netflix revealed in a press release Thursday that The Witcher Season 5 has been greenlit, and will also serve as the conclusion to the fantasy drama.

Per the press release, both Seasons 4 and 5 — the former of which has kicked off production in the U.K. — will be filmed back-to-back and are set to adapt the following final three books in Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher series: Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake.

Liam Hemsworth will be replacing Henry Cavill in the role of Geralt of Rivia. Hemsworth’s involvement was highlighted in a statement from showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich.

“It is with huge pride that we begin shooting our penultimate Season of The Witcher with a stellar cast, including some exciting new additions, led by Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia,” she said. “We’re thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski’s books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldnt be our show if we didn’t push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends.”

Back in January, the streamer announced that Laurence Fishburne would also be joining the Season 4 ensemble as Regis.

“I’m very excited to be joining the cast and look forward to exploring the wondrous world of The Witcher,” Fishburne said in a statement at the time.

Besides Hemsworth and Fishburne, the cast features Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, Joey Batey, Eamon Farren, and Anna Shaffer.

The upcoming Season 4 takes place “after the shocking, Continent-altering events that close out season three,” and will follow Geralt (Hemsworth), Yennefer (Chalotra), and Ciri (Allan), “who are faced with traversing the war-ravaged Continent and its many demons apart from each other,” per Netflix.

“If they can embrace and lead the groups of misfits they find themselves in, they have a chance of surviving the baptism of fire and finding one another again,” the logline continues.

The Witcher Seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix.
