Joy Behar is putting the past behind her. The View co-host and outspoken Donald Trump critic proved there’s no bad blood between her and Alyssa Farah Griffin, who used to work for the one-term POTUS.

On this morning’s episode, Behar confessed that she forgives former Trump employees, including Griffin, who worked as Special Assistant to Trump from 2017 to 2019 and later served as Press Secretary for the United States Department of Defense and White House Director of Strategic Communications under his administration.

Behar’s admission came during a Hot Topics chat about Speaker Mike Johnson, who is at odds with far-right Republicans displeased by his attempts to give billions in aid to U.S. allies like Ukraine and Israel.

Whoopi Goldberg praised Johnson for saying he’s not thinking about the motion to vacate initiated by Marjorie Taylor Greene. The View moderator approvingly told her co-hosts that Johnson “is actually doing his job.”

Behar chimed in, “I forgive him. I forgive him for all of the past sins. He’s anti-climate, he’s anti-gay, he’s all the things that we don’t like in the Democratic party.”

She continued, “Just like I forgive [Mitt] Romney, I forgive Chris Christie,” before turning her head and giving a pointed look to the end of the table, where Griffin sits.

Behar added, “And anybody else who worked for him.”

The line earned a hearty laugh from Sunny Hostin and Griffin herself, who cheekily waved her hand in the air.

“‘Cause I’m a forgiving person,” Behar said, as Griffin replied, “You’re in such a delightful mod today.”

But Behar wasn’t the only one giving love to Griffin this morning. Later in the segment, Goldberg also expressed her appreciation for her conservative colleague.

“You know why I love you?” she asked Griffin. “Because you make sense.”

How far we’ve come from the Meghan McCain days.
