Too Hot to Handle alum Harry Jowsey has revealed a skin cancer diagnosis, issuing an important warning to his followers as “summer is around the corner.”
The reality star announced on TikTok on Friday that a dermatologist found a cancerous mole on his shoulder.
“There isn’t really an easy way to say this, but last week I went to the dermatologist to get my skin checked and they found some skin cancer on me,” said Jowsey. “I’m gonna be all good. Everything’s gonna be okay.”
The 26-year-old former Dancing With the Stars contestant said he wanted to make a post on social media to encourage his followers to take care of their skin because “summer is around the corner.”
“Please wear sunscreen,” he said. “Please wear it. Please go get your skin checked. If you’re a freckly little frog like me, go get a mole map and get your body checked because you never know.”
Jowsey added that the spot was on his shoulder for “like a year or two” and he had “no idea” that it was cancerous. “I just wanna save and protect one of you guys out there,” he said. “So go get your skin checked, wear your sunscreen, and be a little bit more responsible, because that’s what I’ve gotta do now, and it’s very scary.”
He concluded his message, “Anyway, love you guys. Stay safe.”
Several fans and fellow celebrities immediately shared their support in the post’s comments section, with some detailing their own skin cancer stories.
Rylee Arnold, who was Jowsey’s DWTS partner, wrote: “So glad you’re okay. Sending all the love!!!”
Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, who competed alongside Jowsey on Season 32 of DWTS, commented that she and Jowsey are now “melanoma siblings.”
“So scary, but really glad you are ok,” she added, “and yes, sunscreen [is] so important, and skin checks.”
Another user wrote, “It happened to me too. The surgery is intense.” To which Jowsey responded, “I go on Tuesday.”
Jowsey and Arnold lasted nine weeks on Dancing With the Stars before they were eliminated. Marvel star Xochitl Gomez and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy ended up winning the season.
