Fret not, Bridgerton fans. According to executive producers Shonda Rhimes and Betsy Beers, there will certainly be more to come after Season 3 airs on Netflix.

With Season 3 set to premiere in two parts on May 16 and June 13, fans have already began wondering what Season 4 could entail. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg: Julia Quinn‘s bestselling Bridgerton series has eight books, after all.

According to Variety, Beers and Rhimes remain “committed” to bringing all of the Bridgerton novels to screen, no matter how long it takes.

“I’ll be a granny gumming my food,” Beers joked, poking fun at how long it takes to produce Bridgerton, seeing as the first three seasons took approximately two years each to make. “But we want to make sure that there’s Bridgerton for all of us who love it.”

There is also no guarantee that the show will faithfully follow the order of Quinn’s books, seeing as the series has already skipped over Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) to focus on Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) in Season 3.

While Quinn’s book series also began with Daphne and the Duke, the rest of the series follows each of the Bridgerton siblings in alphabetical order, except for Hyacinth, who precedes the youngest sibling, Gregory.

For now, there’s no telling who Season 4 will focus on, but showrunner Jess Brownell recently revealed that Season 3 will include some major hints about the direction Season 4 could go in.

“I do think that there are some clues at the end of Season 3 of where we’re headed. I leave that to fans to pick apart, but I think we’re tipping our hand just a little bit,” she told TVInsider.

Speaking to Variety, Rhimes also addressed whether fans should expect a second season of Queen Charlotte, the prequel series that explored the heartbreaking love story behind the fashionable Bridgerton queen.

“I feel like I’m having a conversation with Netflix! They ask me this question all the time! I’m trying to figure it out still,” she confessed. “I don’t want to tell a story that doesn’t need to be told — do you know what I mean? I don’t want to make a second season of Queen Charlotte, and you’re going to be, like, ‘Well, that was not that great.’”

Considering Rhimes signed a lucrative deal with Netflix in 2017, there’s no end in sight for her partnership with the streamer. Fans should keep their fingers crossed if they’re hoping to see all of the Bridgertons get their own happily ever after.
