The Daytime Emmy-nominated actress Haley Pullos recently surrendered to the Los Angeles County jail system to complete her 90-day sentence after causing a freeway accident in 2023.

Pullos pled no contest to a DUI charge relating to the hit-and-run accident and collision she caused on a Pasadena freeway in April 2023. After she completes 90 days in jail, she will be sentenced to five years probation and 200 hours of community service. She will also be ordered to pay the victim $8,000 in restitution.

Mark Daniel Melnick, Pullos’ attorney, told People, “Haley is very grateful to the court for a minimum sentence and for recognizing her remorse and the strides she has made in her sobriety.”

General Hospital actress Nancy Lee Grahn defended Pullos on social media after she was sentenced. “As Haley’s TV mom I can tell some truth about her as I’ve loved her since she was a little girl. She made a HUGE mistake, knows it, owns it & has spent the last yr doing EVERYTHING imaginable to take responsibility 4 it,” she wrote.

According to the police report obtained by TMZ, Pullos caused a head-on collision on a freeway after she flew over the barrier into oncoming traffic. She had also been involved in a hit-and-run earlier that evening. The other driver sustained major injuries, but no fatalities were reported.

When first responders arrived, they found marijuana edibles and tequila inside of her car.

Police also said that she showed “clear signs” of being under the influence, noting “the smell of alcohol on her breath, slurred speech, and watery eyes.”

At the time, Pullos announced that she would be taking a break from General Hospital to recover from a car accident, though she did not disclose the circumstances.

She was charged with a felony DUI, a felony count of driving with a .08% blood alcohol content causing injury, and a misdemeanor hit-and-run driving resulting in property damage, per Entertainment Weekly.

“Charging Haley Pullos with a felony DUI causing injury underscores the severity of this alleged offense,” a spokesperson for the DA’s office said in a statement, per People.

Pullos pleaded not guilty but eventually reached a plea deal to have one of the DUI charges and the hit-and-run misdemeanor charge dropped.

Pullos gained fame playing Molly Lansing-Davis on General Hospital, which she first joined in 2009. She was nominated for a Daytime Emmy for her performance in 2015.

The role has since been recast. Holiday Mia Kriegel filled in for her after the accident and, later, Brooke Anne Smith. Kristen Vaganos has since taken over the role.
