Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos had plenty of help celebrating the latest milestone in their marriage on this morning’s episode of Live with Kelly and Mark. The co-host couple announced at the top of today’s episode that they are ringing in their 28-year anniversary today.

As they sat down in their seats, Ripa exclaimed, “I’m seeing anniversary treats all over the place!” before turning to her husband and telling him, “Happy anniversary.”

He wished her the same, then both co-hosts told the audience that today marks their 28th year of being married.

“I was in bed last night trying to do the math … My benchmark for a long time is going through first grade to being a senior in high school,” Consuelos began. “Twelve years is a long time.”

He continued, “When you’re a kid, oh my gosh, that’s a whole lifetime. That’s like doing that twice, plus like a PhD, right? Plus four years in college and masters program.”

Ripa turned to her husband and began to say, “You have your PhD in—” before he chimed in and finished the sentence with her, saying, “being married.”

Just look at these two! Still finishing each other’s sentences almost three decades in.

Ripa, feigning being impressed by her husband’s “degree,” looked him up and down and said, “Wow. Should I call you Doctor Consuelos?”

Consuelos took it one step further and quipped, “May be doing a house call later.”

Ripa just laughed and shook her head, telling him, “Stop!” Consuelos seemed to agree the bit was toeing the line for daytime TV, echoing his wife, “Stop it.”

When Ripa asked what the traditional anniversary gift for 28 years of marriage is, Consuelos revealed that orchids are often given to celebrate the milestone.

“Easy!” he said, seeming more relieved than Ripa, who replied, “We already have those in the house.”
