Drew Barrymore is recalling the time she got “very injured” while filming Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.

The actress-turned-talk show host sat down with Emily Blunt on this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, where they chatted about Blunt and Ryan Gosling‘s new film The Fall Guy — which centers on a Hollywood stuntman.

Amid their conversation, both women called on The Academy to give stunt people a category at the Oscars.

“I got very injured on Charlie’s Angels 2,” Barrymore said. “It was just a weird — it’s one of those freak things that happens. That’s how it happens.”

She explained, “Justin Theroux, who was playing Seamus O’Grady in Charlie’s Angels 2, kicked me into a chair and I wasn’t wearing my tailbone pad and it fractured my tailbone. But yeah, I had to carry the embarrassing hemorrhoid donut wherever I went.”

The star then gave props to her stuntwoman for taking over for the next two months of filming.

This wasn’t the first time Barrymore has opened up about her tailbone injury. While interviewing Brendan Fraser for a January 2023 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, she recalled needing to use that embarrassing “tush donut” in public.

“I had to sit at restaurants in one of those, like, tush donuts. They’re mistakably for hemorrhoids,” she said at the time. “So I’d come into the restaurant like, ‘It’s not a hemorrhoid! It’s a broken tailbone!’ Then I would do the next movie and pound on it again.”

Even Blunt has had her fair share of on-set injuries. According to the Academy Award-nominated actress, she “got injured” while filming an aerial scene in Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise.

“That’s why I don’t want to do anything aerial anymore,” she told Barrymore on today’s episode. “I don’t want to do anything high. Fights, no heights. That’s my stunt motto.”

Blunt — who wore “massive armor” in the film — performed a stunt in the air for one scene in which she had to swing around, land on her shoulder and stab an alien. However, she landed wrong and “popped two ribs out.”

“I won’t do it now,” she said. “I’m such a wuss now. I won’t do any of it.”
