Gigi Hadid is opening up about her daughter Khai — and what the three-year-old thinks her mom does for work.

On this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, Hadid dished on this year’s Met Gala with host Drew Barrymore, revealing that she told her daughter that she was going to the ball.

“She’s like, ‘Mom, are you going to New York for your fashion?'” Hadid explained. “She doesn’t really know what that is. It’s just, ‘for your fashion,’ that’s what she says.”

The supermodel, who is also the creative director of the cashmere brand Guest in Residence, then told Barrymore what Khai knows about her work life.

“She knows that I work in fashion,” she said. “I don’t think she really understands what a model is. She comes to the Guest in Residence office so she knows that I make sweaters.”

Hadid, who is rumored to be dating Bradley Cooper, shares Khai with her ex-boyfriend, former One Direction member Zayn Malik. She gave birth to their daughter in September 2020, before calling it quits with the singer for good in October 2021.

During a Mother’s Day edition of the “Final Five,” Barrymore asked Hadid a series of parenting-related questions.

“Hide vegetables in everything,” she said when asked for her No. 1 parenting hack. “She loves pesto. I just started putting broccoli in it. Amazing.”

The star then revealed the best parenting advice she’s gotten, telling Barrymore, “I think the best parenting advice is like [take it one] day at a time, like, you get this beautiful child — just keep loving it and feeding it and keeping it alive and then you’re gonna get it.”

Hadid also opened up about her favorite moments with Khai.

“It’s really the most simple things — like, when we’re walking down the street in Pennsylvania together going down to the river,” she said. “There’s little moments where you’re just like, ‘This is the best. I don’t want you to get bigger.’ She’s like, ‘Mom, am I gonna grow?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah.'”
