Bella Hadid understood the assignment. While making her first daytime talk show appearance on this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the model cozied up to host Drew Barrymore and took off her shoes, sparking a silly conversation about funky socks.

It was clear the two women spoke the same language when Hadid interrupted a deep conversation to ask permission to take her shoes off. Barrymore immediately agreed as she enthusiastically removed her own high-heel boots only to reveal a pair of In-N-Out Burger socks.

“I’m a sock enthusiast! I have a collection!” Barrymore said. “I got sushi socks and In-N-Out Burger socks.”

The star then recalled the extreme measures she went to to obtain a pair of pizza-themed socks.

“I stood in line at a Dave and Buster’s and they were like, ‘You need tickets to win the socks.’ I was like, ‘No, I will pay cash for these socks,'” Barrymore explained. “I knew my daughters — I wasn’t gonna ask for their tickets.”

She added, “I was like, ‘These socks say ‘I Love Pizza’ and I need them very much.'”

While Hadid seemed calm as a cucumber from the moment she joined Barrymore on the couch, the model admitted that she was “scared” to come on the show.

“Being on a TV show is scary, obviously,” she confessed. “I was like, ‘If I’m gonna do it with anybody it has to be Drew.’ Because I’m scared. And I’ve been up since 6:30 [a.m.] just scared, you guys.”

Despite her fear, Hadid undoubtedly nailed her performance — not just by removing her shoes in classic Barrymore fashion, but by hugging and exchanging compliments with the talk show host.

“For you, as everything that you are — as sensitive and empathetic and beautiful and wonderful and hardworking as you are — to have a show like this where you let yourself be out here every day, your authentic, unapologetic self and just to be Drew, be you, every day in front of people, for the people, just is a beautiful thing,” Hadid said.
