Marvel Studios released a teaser trailer for the highly anticipated WandaVision spinoff series focused on Kathryn Hahn‘s mischievous character, Agatha Harkness, and it sheds some light on the show’s rather confusing development.

ScreenRant reports that Marvel shared – and deleted – a post on X that may have unveiled yet another brand new title for the Agatha series: Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe. This left many fans confused; if this is the new title for the show, this would mark the fourth time they’ve changed the Agatha TV show name.

Though the post was quickly deleted, the Marvel Studios account later shared a teaser clip announcing the official (and hopefully final) title of the show.

The clip cycles through all of the Agatha titles that the show has gone through, including Agatha: The Darkhold Diaries, Agatha: House of Harkness, Agatha: Coven of Chaos, and Agatha: The Lying Witch with Great Wardrobe, before it finally settles on one.

“Who’s been messing up everything?” it reads, just as the series’ official title reveals itself: Agatha All Along.

The teaser also reveals that the show will premiere on Disney+ Sept. 18, 2024.

As fans excitedly noted in the replies, and as ScreenRant reported, the constant title changes could be a “meta-joke” that the troublesome witch has been “messing” with Marvel’s Agatha show ahead of the premiere.

One fan commented, “They’ve changed the title like 5 times and I think it’s actually brilliant marketing bc this is exactly something that Agatha would do. It was literally Agatha All Along!!!”

Fans may recognize the new title as the viral song from WandaVision that earned the show an Emmy Award for composers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

We first met Agatha as Wanda’s friendly neighbor in WandaVision who later reveals herself to be a dangerous and powerful witch. Per the logline, Agatha All Along will be set after the events of WandaVision, when Agatha Harkness recruits some unlikely allies on her quest to regain her former powers.

The new series will star Patti LuPone, Aubrey Plaza, Joe Locke, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley.

Jac Schaefer, the head writer and executive producer of WandaVision, is also attached to the show, suggesting that it will have some creative similarities with WandaVision, which received critical acclaim for its unique approach to Wanda’s (Elizabeth Olsen) story.
