‘The View’s Joy Behar Says Gisele Bündchen Was “Open Season” In Tom Brady Roast: “She’s An Adult, Too Bad!”

Joy Behar has declared Gisele Bündchen fair game when it comes to Tom Brady roasts. On this morning’s episode of The View, the comedian pushed back against Alyssa Farah Griffin‘s belief that the supermodel should’ve been off-limits during Netflix‘s Roast of Tom Brady.

While Griffin described the live comedy special as “funny,” she also felt as though more jokes should’ve been aimed directly at Brady.

“This was not a roast of Tom Brady. This was a roast of everyone around Tom Brady,” she said. “There were more [Rob Gronkowski] jokes than there were jokes about him.”

She continued, “Gisele got dragged across the coals and she wasn’t there, wasn’t represented, she didn’t profit off of it. I didn’t like it one bit.”

Behar then muttered, “Too bad about her,” prompting Griffin to explain that she would’ve been “OK” with the jokes had Bündchen been in the room.

“So what if she’s there or she’s not there?” Behar fired back. “She was his wife. She’s open season. She’s an adult. Too bad! Don’t squeeze the comedy out of everything, people, come on!”

Following the roast — which poked fun at Brady’s divorce from Bündchen — the former NFL star admitted that his children weren’t too thrilled with the content.

“I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun,” he said on the Pivot Podcast. “I didn’t like the way they affected my kids … I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that it affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”

However, Whoopi Goldberg was quick to point out that he should’ve foreshadowed those types of jokes happening.

“One would think that since he was the executive producer and he saw what was coming — or maybe he watched a couple of roasts — one would think that you know what a roast entails,” she said, before Behar added, “A roast is not a memorial service. It’s there to insult you and make fun of you. And that’s what it’s about.”

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
