‘Southern Charm’ Alum Kathryn Dennis Arrested For DUI Following Three-Car Collision

Former Southern Charm star Kathryn Dennis has reportedly been arrested for driving under the influence.

TMZ reported that cops in Goose Creek, SC booked the reality star following a three-car collision on Monday night (May 20), claiming she had “glossy eyes and an odor of alcohol coming from her person” at the time she was stopped.

Dennis was reportedly arrested for driving under the influence and driving with an open container.

This isn’t the first time the former Bravolebrity has been in the news for a driving incident. Back in October 2023, she was named a suspect in an alleged hit-and-run at an elementary school in Moncks Corner, SC after a vehicle registered in her name hit a Berkeley County deputy and “did not stop,” according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office. However, Dennis was never arrested for the incident.

Weeks after the ordeal, Dennis’ former Southern Charm co-star Shep Rose praised her at BravoCon.

“Kathryn was 21 when this show started … We’ve grown up in front of you guys,” Rose said in November 2023. “We’ve come a long way and you’ve all seen the bumps and bruises and all that stuff and unfortunately, Kathryn stumbles sometimes. We do love her because there’s a person right inside of her that we know is a good person.”

While the star has never been in trouble for driving under the influence before, she did lose custody of her children to her former Southern Charm co-star and ex-boyfriend Thomas Ravenel after testing positive for marijuana and checking herself into rehab back in 2016.

Dennis revealed during a 2019 episode of Watch What Happens Live that she began drinking again nearly three years after going to rehab.

“It’s not like I’m drinking, though, going out and partying by any means,” she told host Andy Cohen, promising that she no longer “smokes weed” or does “anything illegal like that,” per People.

Last year, Dennis announced that she would not be returning to Southern Charm for Season 9. The early seasons of the show largely followed her tumultuous relationship with Ravenel, with whom she shares two children. While she has remained close with her former co-stars, her social media proves that she’s also been quite busy with her kids since leaving the Bravo series.

Earlier this week, Dennis posted a series of photos from her son’s flag football game.

“When your kiddo nails a touchdown and busts out the Madden victory dance,” she captioned the pictures. “Proud mom with my little champ and his biggest fans.”
