‘The Fall Guy’ Comes To Digital, But When Will ‘The Fall Guy’ Be Streaming on Peacock?

The Fall Guy is now available to rent and buy on digital platforms, less than three weeks after the movie opened in theaters. This might be a bad omen for the state of the movie industry as a whole, but at least you won’t have to leave the comfort of your home to watch Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt looking hot in front of explosions!

Based on the ’80s TV series of the same name, The Fall Guy stars Gosling as a stuntman working on a movie directed by none other than his ex-girlfriend (Emily Blunt). Things are further complicated when the film’s lead actor, action star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) gets caught up in a murder conspiracy. As you can imagine, shenanigans ensue.

The Fall Guy was well-liked by critics and audiences, and though it wasn’t a box office hit, it still managed to rally from a disappointing opening weekend. The film earned back its production budget, earning $127.5 at the worldwide box office so far. So is it surprising that Universal pushed it to digital after just over two weeks in theaters? Is it a vote of no-confidence? Is it a sign of the movie’s big failure?

No, no, and no. Although two weeks is on the short side for a theatrical run, most studio films these days are only exclusive to theaters for 45 days or less, and Universal has had a particularly quick turnaround time. Most big Universal movies, including Night Swim and Dev Patel’s Monkey Man, hit digital after just over two weeks in theaters. The Fall Guy, apparently, will not be an exception.

Here’s what you should know about how to watch The Fall Guy online, and when to expect to see The Fall Guy streaming on Peacock.

Beginning on Tuesday, May 21, Monkey Man will be available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Google Play, Apple TV, Vudu, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime the film costs $24.99 to buy a digital copy.

How to rent The Fall Guy online:

The Fall Guy will be available to rent on digital platforms like Amazon Prime, Google Play, Apple TV, Vudu, and more, beginning on May 21. The movie will cost $19.99 to rent, and you’ll have 48 hours to watch the movie after hitting “play.”

When will The Fall Guy be streaming on Peacock?

The Fall Guy streaming release date on Peacock has not yet been announced, but we know that The Fall Guy will be on Peacock eventually because it is a Universal movie, and Peacock is the streaming service owned by Universal. All the new Universal theatrical movies end up streaming on Peacock, though the wait period has varied by title.

Another Universal release, Night Swim, was also pushed to VOD after just over two weeks in theaters, and it began streaming on Peacock about four months after opening in theaters (and about 10 weeks after releasing on digital). If The Fall Guy follows a similar release pattern, you can expect The Fall Guy to stream on Peacock around early August 2024.

This is all speculation, of course. If you want to watch The Fall Guy at home right away, you can do so by buying or renting the film on digital beginning today.
