Dune: Part 2

Just over 80 days after premiering in theaters, Dune: Part Two is now streaming on Max — and we’re about to let you in on a secret. If you’ve held out on seeing the blockbuster sequel until now, you’re in luck because you’re about to save some money.

Dune: Part Two has been available to purchase on video-on-demand for about a month now, first available to rent for $24.99 and now available to buy for $19.99 — that’s more than a movie ticket to see it in theaters would cost at the average movie theater!

However, now that Dune: Part Two is streaming on Max, you can watch the movie for less than a movie ticket’s cost. While Max doesn’t offer a free trial, the “With Ads” plan is just $9.99/month — $10 less than it’d cost to buy the movie on VOD right now.

Director Denis Villeneuve’s ambitious follow-up to 2021’s Dune continues the story of Paul Atreides. Timothée Chalamet returns as the young Duke of Arrakis, alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, and Dave Bautista — all reprising their roles in Dune: Part Two. Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, Léa Seydoux, and Christopher Walken joined the cast for the sequel.

In his review of the film, DECIDER’s John Serba wrote, “Villeneuve can take a somewhat improbable W for a difficult adaptation. Dune: Part Two makes the first film better in retrospect, and the eventual third one, Dune: Messiah, absolutely welcome.”

So, if you haven’t seen Dune: Part Two yet, or you’ve been hankering to rewatch Paul ride Shai-Hulud for the first time or go toe-to-to with Butler’s Feyd-Rautha for the first time since you caught it in theaters, there’s officially a cheaper way to do that than the VOD rental or purchase.
