Sometimes on Wheel of Fortune, there are moments where the audience unites over a perceived injustice, like a contestant mispronouncing a word and losing a puzzle, or the players having to solve a puzzle that’s downright nonsensical.

But then there are moments where we unite because a contestant’s guess is so unhinged that it makes the show an unpredictable thrill ride that no comedy writer can compete with.

That’s what happened on last night’s (May 23) episode when one contestant guessed a phrase that’s rarely used in polite company, causing the audience and his fellow contestants to lose it.

During a Toss Up puzzle, four words followed by an exclamation point appeared. As the letters automatically filled in, the letters on the board spelled out “_ _ _ _ I _ T _ E B _ _ T!”

At that moment, contestant Tavaris rang his buzzer and enthusiastically guessed the four-word phrase that will live in my memory forever: “Right in the butt.”

This, despite the fact that the first word only contained four letters, not five. This, despite the fact that this is not a common phrase although, sure, let’s destigmatize butt stuff. This, despite the fact that it’s connotations are something only suitable for certain Wheel fan fic.

One of his fellow contestants cried out, “What?!” as soon as the words escaped his lips, and host Pat Sajak immediately sighed, “No.” It’s not just that Tavaris spoke these words out loud that made the moment what it was, it was Sajak’s resigned, dry response that added to the moment.

Meanwhile, the audience burst out laughing and couldn’t stop until Tavaris’s competitor, Blake, buzzed in with the correct answer guessing, “This is the best.”

The audience’s laughter died down, but one person who commented on Wheel‘s official Instagram page said they were in the audience for this taping said, “They had to reshoot Blake’s interview cause we were still hollering after the fact!” Pat seemed to snicker and shake his head as he wrapped up the puzzle, but aside from his stern, “No,” he never spoke again of the precious gift that Tavaris gave us all.

Wheel Of Fortune airs on weeknights on ABC, and Pat Sajak’s final episode on the show will air June 7.
