Apple TV+ has canceled its freshman insomnia comedy series Still Up starring The Good Doctor‘s Antonia Thomas and Craig Roberts after just one season.

The series premiered in September 2023 but according to Deadline, was quietly shelved earlier this year.

Created by Natalie Walter and Steve Burge, Still Up centers on an illustrator Lisa (Thomas) whose thoughts about her daughter’s future keep her up at night, and a talented journalist Danny (Roberts) who struggles with social anxiety. Although the pair have never met in person, they spend every night awake talking to each other without ever divulging their feelings for each other.

Also starring in the show are Blake Harrison (The Inbetweeners), Lois Chimimba (The One), Luke Fetherston (Flowers in the Attic), Rich Fulcher (The Mighty Boosh), and Sam Spiro (Sex Education).

Although Apple TV+ has axed Still Up, Thomas and Roberts will continue working together on a forthcoming comedy-horror feature titled The Scurry. The film will star Thomas and will be helmed by Roberts.

Thomas played Dr. Claire Browne for four seasons of The Good Doctor on ABC and will soon be returning to the show. The British actress has also starred in Channel 4‘s popular drama series Suspect.

The only international comedy show that has seen multiple seasons on Apple TV+ is Trying starring Rafe Spall, which debuted Season 4 earlier this week.
