Vision is back. Again. Paul Bettany will be reprising his role as the Marvel synthezoid in a new live-action Disney+ series that is currently set for 2026.

According to Variety, the Vision TV show will reportedly pick up after the events of WandaVision, which saw Vision get revived by his bereaved partner, Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), as she attempts to build them a picturesque life in the suburbs after he was killed in Avengers: Infinity War.

The WandaVision finale saw S.W.O.R.D. acting director Tyler Hayward reactivate Vision’s body and deploy him to end Wanda’s reign over Westview, with a fight ensuing between The Vision and Wanda’s version of Vision. After he got all of his memories back during the battle, the series ended with The Vision — an all-white android — declaring that he is the true Vision and escaping Westview.

Star Trek: Picard executive producer Terry Matalas will serve as showrunner of the untitled series.

This will be the second spin-off series to stem from WandaVision. Agatha All Along, starring WandaVision breakout star Kathryn Hahn, premieres this September.

This news comes after Marvel announced that it will be rebranding its television studios as Marvel Television and Marvel Animation to alleviate pressure from fans who felt they had to keep up with all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after Avengers.

“There was a lot of pressure post-‘Avengers: Endgame’ on the public to feel obligated to watch absolutely everything in order to watch anything,” Brad Winderbaum, Marvel’s head of streaming, television and animation, told Variety. “Part of the rebranding was a signal to the general audience that we’re creating a lot of options, and you can follow your tastes within this brand. Some will be more comedic, some will be more dramatic, some will be animated, some will be live-action.”

Winterbaum added, “The hope is that, like the comics, you can just pop in anywhere and have a satisfying experience. We’re trying to dispel the idea that you need to do any kind of setup work to watch anything else.”

The Marvel exec maintained that this was all part of the studio’s pivot to taking a “more traditional approach” to developing television.

Though WandaVision remains a limited a series, much to fans’ disappointment, Wanda’s legacy will continue to live on.
