When Calls The Heart star Mamie Laverock is fighting for her life after she fell five stories from a balcony on Sunday (May 26).

The 19-year-old actress was initially transported to a Winnipeg hospital due to an undisclosed “medical emergency” on Saturday, May 11, according to a GoFundMe page set up by her parents Rob Compton and Nicole Compton. The pair wrote that she had since been transferred to a hospital in Vancouver — and while her recovery was “unclear” at the time, they said she was “showing signs of improvement.”

However, in a new update on the fundraiser, they claimed Laverock was “escorted out of a secure unit of the hospital and taken up to a balcony walkway from which she fell five stories.”

The family continued, “She sustained life-threatening injuries, has undergone multiple extensive surgeries, and is currently on life support. We are all devastated, in shock, at this intensely difficult time.”

Laverock’s When Calls the Heart co-star Erin Krakow has since urged her followers to donate to the GoFundMe, writing on Instagram, “I just donated. If you have the means to do so, I hope you will too.”

Johannah Newmarch, who plays Laverock’s mother on the Hallmark show, added, “I love this family, my heart is broken. A devastating time for all who care for Mamie. Please help if you can. They need all the support they can get to make it through this.”
