Travis Kelce Says He’s “Looking For Movie Deals” — Even If It Means Working As A “F***ing Extra” In Netflix’s ‘Happy Gilmore 2’

Travis Kelce wants to take his talents from the big game to the big screen.

On Wednesday’s (May 29) episode of the podcast he hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, titled New Heights, Travis read aloud a fan “conspiracy theory” claiming that he “will be announced as part of the cast of Happy Gilmore 2.”

“I didn’t even know there was a job opening for Happy Gilmore 2, but if there is, I’ll be a fucking extra,” Travis teased. “You know, anything to get around Happy Gilmore or [an] Adam Sandler film or set, count me in.”

While he deemed himself “a huge fan of the Sandman,” he clarified that the speculation is just that — a conspiracy theory. However, Travis added, “Who knows? Theories can come true. Theories can be true and just people don’t know about it. So, I might even be in the talking and nobody knows about it, but I could also not be in the talking.”

Travis and Jason then talked about the origins of the conspiracy theory, citing Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s April appearance on their podcast where he “alluded to the Kelce brothers being in LA to set up movie deals.”

They also noted that Travis had recently donned a Happy Gilmore hat, and mentioned that the Happy Gilmore sequel was officially confirmed by Netflix earlier this month.

“There’s really no evidence to support this whatsoever, essentially,” Jason said, to which Travis replied, “Other than the movie is getting made and I’m looking for movie deals.”

Speculation of Happy Gilmore 2 was spurred by Christopher McDonald, who revealed in March that Sandler had shown him the first draft of a script. Fans only got more excited after Drew Barrymore went straight to the source — Sandler himself — who told her, “There is a process, and that process is in process.”

As for Travis, he recently scored a hosting gig with Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?, a Prime Video spin-off of Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, per TODAY.com. He was also cast in Grotesquerie, a horror drama from Ryan Murphy, per Deadline.

While Travis and Jason tried to figure out what role he could play in Happy Gilmore 2, Jason ultimately told his brother, “I really think you got to be involved with Shooter [McGavin] somehow.”

“What about Shooter’s caddy?” Jason proposed.

From his mouth to Sandler’s ears! Nonetheless, Travis said he would “do anything in the movie.”
