Thursday was a happy day in the Jimmy Kimmel Live writer’s room.

After Donald Trump became the first former president to be found guilty of a crime yesterday (May 30), Jimmy Kimmel railed against him for much of his opening monologue during that evening’s broadcast.

“Thank you for joining us… a big afternoon in New York and for the United States of America, we have a verdict in the case of the people of New York versus O.J. [Simpson] – I mean DJ,” he said. “Donald John Trump is guilty of 34 felony charges.”

He continued after the applause, “After seven long weeks, the courtroom is empty, and Donald Trump’s diaper is full.”

He later showed Trump telling the media that the verdict is a “disgrace.” The former POTUS vowed, “We’ll keep fighting, we’ll fight to the end, and we’ll win.”

Kimmel fired back, “And if we don’t win, we’ll say we won anyway. Listen, I have bad news: The only thing you’re going to be fighting to win is the Jell-O cup on your prison cafeteria tray.”

After the verdict was announced, Trump’s son Eric made a post on social media saying, “May 30th, 2024 might be remembered as the day Donald J. Trump won the 2024 Presidential Election.”

Needless to say, Kimmel did not agree.

“Or it’ll be remembered as the day a jury in New York spanked your dad even harder than Stormy did with that Forbes magazine,” he said, referring to a memorable moment in Stormy Daniels’ testimony where she claimed that she struck Trump with a magazine during a sexual encounter back in 2006.

Kimmel recently bragged that his show was mentioned during Trump’s hush money trial, meaning Jimmy Kimmel Live is now “part of the official record of The People vs. Donald Trump.”

“I don’t want to brag, but it’s the first time a late-night talk show has been entered into evidence at the criminal trial for a president of the United States,” Kimmel joked. “Johnny Carson didn’t get that with Nixon. We got it here!”
