Police Are Still Investigating ‘Southern Charm’ Star Kathryn Dennis’ Alleged Hit-And-Run Case Weeks After She Was Arrested For DUI

Kathryn Dennis might not have been arrested when her car was involved in an alleged hit-and-run, but the former Southern Charm star isn’t in the clear just yet.

In October 2023, a vehicle registered in Dennis’ name ran through a stop sign at an elementary school in Moncks Corner, SC and hit a Berkeley County deputy. The police report states that the car “did not stop” and that the officer was subsequently transported to the hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

While authorities determined that the car belonged to Dennis, she was not arrested as they were unable to prove she was the driver at the time of the incident, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.

Law enforcement sources told the outlet that they are still not planning to arrest Dennis at this time. However, they are open to pursuing new leads, meaning she isn’t off the hook yet.

The news comes less than two weeks after Dennis was arrested for driving under the influence following a three-car collision in Goose Creek, SC. A responding officer described Dennis as having “glossy eyes and an odor of alcohol coming from her person” at the time she was stopped, according to documents obtained by TMZ. She was also allegedly driving with an open container.

Footage of the arrest later surfaced showing Dennis accusing the cops of “ruining” her life and calling them “disgusting” and “gross” for getting in her personal space. She also threatened to “sue the shit” out of them if they brought her dog, who was in the car with her, to an animal shelter.

Days later, Dennis returned to social media to share a message about the value of life on her Instagram story.

“You can literally be here today and gone tomorrow,” the quote read. “Be grateful, be humble, be appreciative, be kind, be loving.”

Dennis starred in the first eight seasons of Bravo’s Southern Charm, which she officially exited last year. Throughout her time on the reality show, cameras largely followed her turbulent relationship with her now ex-boyfriend Thomas Ravenel, with whom she shares two children.

While Dennis has never gotten a DUI before, she did lose custody of her children after testing positive for marijuana and checking herself into rehab back in 2016.
