‘Today’s Hoda Kotb Shuts Down Jenna Bush Hager’s “Fat-O-No-Mo” Method For Taking Pictures: “She’s Trying To Pull My Arm Fat”
During a conversation on Today with Hoda & Jenna about making memories that will stick with your children, Jenna Bush Hager described her night last night as something that will stick with her daughter Mila forever. It wasn’t some big event or special moment, but one of those typical evenings around the house that forged a memory to last a lifetime.
Bush Hager began by telling co-host Hoda Kotb that after putting her youngest child, Hal, to bed before 7 p.m., she herself changed into her pajamas, which she described as “pink and rather short.”
After Hal went to sleep “while the sun was still out,” Bush Hager told Kotb, “I went outside so I could cut some flowers.”
“Oh my God, you really are a gardener,” Kotb laughed.
“Thank you,” Bush Hager replied before adding that she and daughter Mila went out for the flowers, and also had been “looking for this weird beaver that lives on our property…”
“That’s a lot going on here,” Kotb interjected.
At that point Bush Hager and Mila decided to go for a walk, but Bush Hager asked Mila, “Do you think people will think it’s strange that your 42-year-old mother is walking in her PJs?” Mila assured her mother it would be fine, and the mother and daughter proceeded with their walk.
“I had my scissors with me, the cat’s in the stroller, we’re pushing the stroller with the cat… There’s neighbors of ours who don’t live in the home, they moved, and they have a beautiful garden — “
“You didn’t!” Kotb said.
“I said to Mila, these peonies need to be cut!” Bush Hager replied. “I’ve read that if you don’t cut them, then they won’t grow as beautifully next year…before I could even hear her response I’m walking over to cut the peonies. I’m bending down with my booty high in the air, and all of a sudden I hear somebody go, ‘Hi, Mila.’ And I turn around like this, cutting the neighbor’s yard. In the air! Cutting. Short PJs! I do a little wave, ” she said, bending down to illustrate.

“It isn’t the people who live in the house, but it’s our lovely next door neighbors. I walk over with the few flowers I managed to cut and I said, ‘What do you think is more strange, that I’m in my pajamas or that I’m cutting the neighbor’s flowers?'” Bush Hager asked her neighbor.
“‘Really, the cat in the stroller,'” was her neighbor’s response.
“I love that story, I can’t believe you didn’t tell me that in the makeup room,” Kotb said through tears of laughter. Bush Hager said that it was a moment that also had daughter Mila laughing, too, telling her mother, “Your gyat was up there in the air and you were cutting the neighbor’s flowers!”
“I need an intervention,” Bush Hager then joked. This story is a wild ride, but I can’t help but feel like we’re overlooking one of the most significant details, that there’s a weird beaver living at Bush Hager’s house.
Today with Jenna and Hoda airs on weekdays at 10/9c on NBC.
