Kim Kardashian was just a teenager when her father infamously defended O.J. Simpson in one of the most publicized murder trials in history. The former NFL player had been accused of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ron Goldman.

Just over two decades after O.J. was acquitted on the murder charges, Ryan Murphy dramatized the trial in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story. The 10-episode series, which was released in 2016, starred Cuba Gooding Jr. as O.J. and David Schwimmer as Robert Kardashian, who was O.J.’s defense attorney in the trial.

Kim, who is well on her way to becoming a lawyer like her father, recently revealed in Variety‘s “Actors on Actors” series that she watched Murphy’s show and “loved” it.

“Some people were over and they hadn’t seen it — I watched it years and years ago — and I wanted to see if my recollection was right on the portrayal of my dad,” she told Chloë Sevigny. “I thought it was just done so well.”

She continued, “I remember asking Ryan, ‘Who were your sources? Because that was my dad’s exact bracelet. That was our home!’ They actually rented the home that we grew up in at that period of time.”

Kim did admit that “little things were wrong” in the show — but they were “minimal.”

“It was just fascinating to watch and see it from a different perspective, especially now, since I’m in law school,” she added. “Seeing it from a legal point of view is just fascinating.”

This isn’t the first time the reality star has talked about her family’s role in the trial. With Robert on O.J.’s defense team and Kris Jenner being a close friend of Nicole’s, Kim told David Letterman that the trial “tore” her family apart in a 2020 episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction.

“My mom was extremely vocal on her feelings — she believed that her friend was murdered by him and that was really traumatizing for her. And then we’d go to my dad’s house and it was a whole other situation there,” she said, noting that her dad would sometimes take her and Kourtney Kardashian out of school to attend the trial without their mother’s knowledge, per People.

The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story is currently streaming on Hulu.
