Whoopi Goldberg and her Sister Act co-stars may have played nuns in the beloved film, but they were anything but pious. On this morning’s episode of The View, Goldberg and the cast reunited to discuss the smash hit film in honor of the 30th anniversary of Sister Act 2.

As Goldberg sat with her co-stars Kathy Najimy and Wendy Makkena, they were interviewed by the other View co-hosts about their experience working on Sister Act 2, which was released in 1993.

When Alyssa Farah Griffin recalled Najimy and Makkena ordering champagne to their hotel room and putting on “a little porn” to shock anyone seeing them dressed as nuns, she then asked where else they wore their costumes around San Francisco, where they filmed.

Clearing her throat, Makenna joked, “I don’t know if we should talk about it.”

She then shared a memory of one day when she, Najimy and Goldberg went into a “porn shop.” Once they reached the counter, Najimy pulled up an unidentified plastic object — Makenna didn’t specify on daytime TV, but we’re going to go ahead and venture that it was likely a dildo — prompting the cashier to ask where the “sisters” were from.

“The lady behind the counter, who was clearly an ex-porn star, beautiful red-head lady, she looked at the three of us … and she said, ‘Where are you from? What church are you from?'” Makenna said.

She then turned to Goldberg and asked, “Do you remember what you said?” and when Goldberg replied, “No. Uh-oh,” Makenna jogged her memory.

“You said something like the Order of Sister Mary Kay,” Makenna told her, which earned a hearty laugh from the audience.

Goldberg quipped, “That sounds right!” as Sara Haines added, “After that, we’re all gonna have to go to church, so thank you.”

The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
