Double Impact actor Alan Scarfe passed away on April 28 from colon cancer. He was 77.

According to an obituary cited by Entertainment Tonight, the late actor “passed peacefully” in his home in Longueuil, Québec, Canada.

Born Alan John Scarfe in Harpenden, England on June 8, 1946, he emigrated to Canada with his parents and his two brothers, and later graduated from Vancouver’s Lord Byng Secondary School. He went back to England to attend the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, where he studied from 1964 to 1966.

He pursued an impressive career on stage in Europe, Canada, and the U.S., with more than “100 major roles,” per his obituary. Per IMDb, his first film credit was earned in The Bitter Ash, a 1963 Canadian drama.

In his film career, Scarfe notably portrayed Nigel Griffith in Double Impact, the 1991 action thriller starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. Scarfe also acted in Lethal Weapon 3 as Herman Walters, which was released the following year.

While working in TV, he appeared on Columbo, MacGyver, NYPD Blue, Quantum Leap, Kingdom Hospital, and Andromeda. He also made cameos on Star Trek: Voyager (1995) and Star Trek: The Next Generation (1991, 1993), the latter of which his late wife Barbara also appeared on for three episodes.

Scarfe portrayed Dr. Bradley Talmadge on Seven Days, a sci-fi series that aired for three seasons from 1998 until 2001. He earned his final on-screen credit in a 2007 short titled Hastings Street.

According to his obituary, Scarfe is survived by his daughter Tosia, son-in-law Austin, brother Colin, son and fellow actor Jonathan, and grandchildren Kai and Hunter.
