This morning’s episode of The View was just picking up speed when it was abruptly interrupted for an ABC News special report announcing Hunter Biden‘s guilty verdict.

Whoopi GoldbergSara Haines, Joy BeharSunny Hostin and Alyssa Farah Griffin were in the middle of chatting about Donald Trump‘s recent remarks about Taylor Swift when the interruption occurred. The former POTUS reportedly hailed the singer as “unusually beautiful” but “liberal” in the new book, Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass.

“First of all, he used the word ‘beautiful’ six times … He needs a thesaurus. Get some new words,” Behar said on the broadcast. “Besides that, he’s such a looksist too. He can’t believe that a beautiful girl like that would be on his team. That’s how narcissistic he is.”

Haines then slammed Trump as a “fake conservative,” to which Behar replied, “I don’t know what he is. Psychotic. Psychopath. Whatever. But he also was obsessed with his looks. That’s why he, almost at the age of 80, he’s still bleaching his hair blonde like a boy band.”

The comedian was then cut off by ABC News’ breaking news report, revealing that Hunter (the son of President Joe Biden) was found guilty of all three counts in his criminal gun trial.

Meanwhile, fans hoping to watch The View were left infuriated by the interruption.

“OK, @ABCNewsLive wrap this up. You’re not telling us anything new about Hunter Biden, and you’re clearly milking this,” one wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Not a good look, David Muir; you’re better than this. Return to @TheView.”

Another added, “I would have loved to have watched the whole show, but @abcnews decided Hunter Biden’s guilty verdict impacted my life so badly, they interrupted @TheView.”

A third person said, “I don’t give a flying frog about Hunter Biden. I was off work today and I never get to watch The View. I was so excited but no a person I care nothing about is taking up the whole time.”

Someone else fumed, “WWWWWHHHHHYYYYY?!?!?! Why do y’all consistently interrupt @TheView??? Can y’all wait until after The View is over to talk about this? This is not an emergency that affects anyone’s life nor is the public in danger!!!”

While ABC never returned to today’s broadcast of The View, we’ll likely hear everyone’s opinions about the verdict in tomorrow’s episode.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
