‘One Piece’ Adds Four New Villains To Season 2 Cast

Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the long-running manga series One Piece has officially cast new actors for Season 2 to depict fan-favorite villains Mr. 3, Mr. 6, Mr. 9 and Valentine. 

These four characters are direct reflections of those from the manga series itself. The new villains are part of the major criminal syndicate in the series, Baroque Works.

Per Variety, David Dastmalchian is slated to play Mr. 3, Camrus Johnson has been cast as Mr. 5, Daniel Lasker will appear as Mr. 9 and Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine. They join the existing cast of Iñaki Godoy as aspiring pirate king Monkey D. Luffy, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.

One Piece revolves around young Luffy (Godoy) as he sails across the seas with his Straw Hats gang in search of the mysterious One Piece treasure. The adaptation of the series has proven to be widely popular, with 37.8 million views in the first two weeks of its release last year. The series reached the Top 10 on Netflix in 93 countries and has a 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes from 10,000+ ratings, according to Netflix.

The live-action series is executive produced by series creator Eiichiro Oda, created alongside Shueisha, and produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix. Matt Owens and Steven Maeda are writers, executive producers, and showrunners, while Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements also executive produce the show.  

The original One Piece manga that the live show is based on has been around since 1997 and continues to publish new stories. The series is well-loved around the world and has won multiple awards, including the Sondermann Award in 2005, 2008 and 2009 in the International Manga category and the Grand Prize at the 41st Japan Cartoonists Association Awards in 2012. The series also currently holds the world record for breaking the record for most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author. 

Season 2 of One Piece has yet to set an official release date but is expected to hit the platform in late 2025 or early 2026.
