Michael Strahan was once again missing from the Good Morning America desk Monday (July 1), marking the sixth day in a row that the host has been absent from the show.

Though the GMA hosts did not share a reason for Strahan’s absence, he has been dealing with some personal family matters this past year after his 19-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a rare brain cancer.

Robin Roberts, however, finally returned to GMA this morning after a week away. The host did not specify where she had been, but she appeared to be in good spirits as she joined George Stephanopolous and Rebecca Jarvis, who was filling in for Strahan during the broadcast.

Roberts had been away for a week, as well, presumably because she was away on a reporting trip in Portugal.

Roberts’ and Strahan’s continued absence last week left many viewers concerned regarding the future of Good Morning America.

Will Strahan ever be back on the show? Or is this goodbye? Here’s everything we know.

ABC has not explained Strahan’s absence from the show or shared when the former NFL star will be expected back at the desk. But it is possible that he is taking some time to be with his family after his daughter, Isabella, recently finished undergoing chemotherapy for her brain cancer.

Strahan shared an emotional video on social media last month showing his daughter ringing the bell in the hospital.

“You are a SUPERWOMAN! Ringing that bell finishing chemo and on your way!” he wrote. “You continue to fight with a smile on your face, strength, and determination. I am one proud Dad! Love you, Bella.”

The GMA host has previously missed weeks of work to support his family as she continues receiving treatment. Strahan was absent from the broadcast in November due to “personal family matters” around the same time his daughter reportedly received her diagnosis.

Decider has reached out to ABC for more information.

For now, it remains unclear when Strahan will be expected back on the show.

Good Morning America airs weekdays at 7/6c on ABC.
