A new type of reality TV is hitting Peacock this summer. Premiering July 11 and narrated by Rhys Darby, The Hungry Games: Alaska’s Big Bear Challenge follows Katmai National Park bears in a playful survival competition as they bulk up for hibernation.

Viewers can watch as bears earn (or lose!) points for every action, including the food they catch, their “game plan,” and their bravery demonstrated. The bears will be judged on three categories: beefiness, ingenuity and grit which total up to their “B.I.G. Bear Score.”

The animals are able to accumulate up to 100 points total: 50 points in the beefiness category and up to 25 points in both ingenuity and grit. However, if their score is below 70 at the end of a round, they will be eliminated.

The bears’ ultimate goal is to eat three million calories and gain 200 pounds in just 150 days. The bear with the highest point total at the end of the three-episode challenge will be the one to claim the Hungry Games crown and earn the title of Alaska’s Big Bear Champion.

In this new exclusive clip obtained by DECIDER, viewers can watch as a hungry wolf stalks a mother bear and her cubs, including a baby named Raccoon.

While the mother, Boldface, attempts to take her cubs back to safety, Raccoon doesn’t seem to want to listen and strays from the rest of the family, seemingly not realizing the wolf’s eyes are locked in on him.

Raccoon, extremely relaxed considering the circumstances, munches on some grass as his mother growls in an attempt to scare the wolf away and call her baby back to her.

Even as Raccoon returns to the safety of his mother’s back, the wolf refuses to retreat.

The clip ends on a cliffhanger of an impending standoff between Boldface and the wolf, leaving viewers to beg the question, will baby Raccoon and his family be able to avoid disaster?

This sticky moment is sure to be just one that will have you on the edge of your seat throughout the season. The show is perfect for thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike, as everyone’s favorite woodsy animal contestants develop new tactics to fight for their survival and earn points towards achieving the ultimate title.

The Hungry Games: Alaska’s Big Bear Challenge will premiere July 11 on Peacock.
