The Lord of the Rings actor John Rhys-Davies has signed on to star in Evolutionary Films‘ action horror film Aux and is also coming on board as executive producer. Aux follows the fallout after two young boys sneak into a secret military bunker, undetected since World War II, where they find something terrifying and deadly. The ensuing police investigation sees officers killed off one by one, but in a local nursing home an elderly vet, Jack (Rhys-Davies), recognizes what’s happening and becomes involved.
Directed by Evolutionary CEO John Adams and written by John Adams and Peter Adams, John Adams produces along with Diane Shorthouse. The film is set to begin production January 13. Best known as Sallah in the Indiana Jones series and Gimli in The Lord of the Rings, Rhys-Davies has appeared in The Living Daylights and King Solomon’s Mines and television’s Sliders. He’s next set to appear in MTV’s The Shannara Chronicles. He’s repped by Jeff Goldberg Management.
