Yoakam will play Wendell Corey, who heads the giant aerospace company defended by powerful law firm Cooperman McBride, Borns Tech. Billy McBride (Thornton), takes on both of these “goliath” businesses in season one. Perrineau will play Judge Roston Keller.
Along with Thornton, Goliath stars Olivia Thirlby, Molly Parker and Maria Bello in the ultimate David vs. Goliath battle fought in the 21st century American legal system. The series follows a down-and-out lawyer (Thornton) as he seeks redemption. His one shot depends on getting justice in a legal system where truth has become a commodity, and the scales of justice have never been more heavily weighed toward the rich and powerful.
The series is written and executive produced by Kelley and Jonathan Shapiro. Ross Fineman and Larry Trilling also exec produce.
The role reunites Yoakam with Thornton, with whom he previously co-starred in Slingblade. He has also appeared in TV series such as Under the Dome and Wilfred, as well as films including Panic Room, Crank, and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, among others. Yoakam is repped by ROAR and CAA.
Perrineau has starred in Constantine; The Best Man Holiday, opposite Taye Diggs, Nia Long, Morris Chestnut and Terrence Howard; Sabotage, opposite Sam Worthington and Arnold Schwarzenegger; and in Kathryn Bigelow’s Oscar-nominated Zero Dark Thirty. His other credits include The Matrix trilogies, 28 Weeks Later and Romeo + Juliet. He is repped by APA.
