John Kelly said Trump turned towards him on Memorial Day at Arlington National Cemetery in 2017 and said “I don’t get it, what’s in it for them”. He also told how Trump insulted former Senator John McCain and former president George Bush because they are veterans and were shot down during Vietnam and World War II respectively. Kelly also described Trump as a person who has no respect for POWs as he thinks they are ’suckers’ because there is nothing in it for them. He added, Trump did not want to be seen in the presence of military amputees because it didn’t look good for him. The hotel became a target as it was believed to be housing asylum seekers in the area. Missiles were thrown and a bin set alight outside the building on Sunday (4 August), with 21 people still wanted in connection. “Am I going in a cell?”, one man asked as he was cuffed outside his home. The Independent1 day agoCabinet minister says government in ‘state of readiness’ to tackle rioters this weekendThe Independent - Sophie ThompsonCabinet Office minister Nick Thomas-Symonds has revealed that the government are on “high-readiness” over further planned protests this weekend. Over 400 arrests have been made in recent days, following riots across the likes of Hull, Rotherham, Southampton, and Blackpool. 6,000 specially-trained riot officers are expected to be on the streets to deal with any incidents. There are around 40 counter-protests due on Saturday, according to the Stand Up to Racism group. NPCC chair Gavin Stephens said the country is not being “complacent” despite two nights of peace. Wearing a suit and only removing his socks, he dived into the water, to the shock of the pundits back in the studio, who were left in hysterics at the now-viral moment. Shouts of “What is going on?!” and “Go on Gary!” could be heard from his co-presenters. The new state-of-the-art facility plays home to a 15m length swimming pool, as well as hot and cold recovery baths.
