Catfish Suspended as MTV Investigates Sexual Harassment Allegations Against Nev Schulman — Read Statements
After spending more than 100 episodes helping to catch online ne’er do wells, Nev Schulman has found himself on the hook.
Production on MTV’s popular reality investigation series Catfish has been suspended over allegations of sexual misconduct brought against the host, who also serves as its executive producer. Catfish, which began airing in 2012, is currently in its seventh season.
The claims were made in a YouTube video posted by Ayissha Morgan, a young woman who appeared in an episode of Catfish‘s fourth season. Morgan describes an incident involving “the main guy on the show,” to whom she later refers by the pseudonym “Jack,” in which this person repeatedly questioned her sexuality, telling her, “I don’t think you’re a lesbian — I don’t think you met the right guy yet. Do you think I’m attractive?”
Morgan also claims that “Jack” alluded to wanting to share a hotel room with her and bragged about the size of his penis.
“We take these allegations very seriously,” a spokesperson for the network said in a statement. “We’re working with Critical Content, our third party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation.” Watch the video in full below:
In a statement to Page Six, Schulman denied Morgan’s claims:
The behavior described in this video did not happen and I’m fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth. I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions — but these claims are false.

Meh, the show was a bit stale anyway and I always liked grey haired cutie, Max over Nev. The show could go on without Nev if they could find someone to play off Max. That’s if people are still watching it. It’s a “watch when I’m bored” show for me.

I like this show. It’s a guilty pleasure for me. I think a lot of it is now scripted. May have been more genuine in the beginning. This is not the first time I have read about Nev being guilty of misconduct.

This is how all this #Metoo stuff has gone too far. Rude? Yes. Insensitive? Sure. Harrassment? No.
Its going to get to the point where all interactions between men and women will have to be recorded, notarized, and scrutinized .
Um telling someone about the size of your penis isn’t harrassment? There is a difference between talking to someone and hitting on them and then talking about the size of your penis. Why is this so hard to understand?!
if it’s even true.. None of us know the real truth. She could be mad at the outcome HER episode and resorted to lies. I for one find it hard to believe. He’s married and now a new daddy. And his wife blows her out of the water with looks and class. I call BS on her claims .

I only just heard about this. Nev? Of all people to pick on. We have seen him on film for so many years talking so honestly about personal things. He has never come across as homophobic or a perv. Isn’t the running theme he is too nice and see’s the good in everyone and the eternal optimist. Don’t believe it. Seen it before how these people are desperate to be on TV and lie. Exactly if it was so bad and horrific for her why still continue the episode and not say anything about it then? Or the other people that were there? Every episode they do they have several people in the room no matter where they are. Even when they did the zoom calls they still had their producers and basically the people to make sure they did what they were supposed to. I’m glad someone else saw this too
Jack always struck me as a narcissistic, arrogant jerk. It wouldn’t surprise me if it was true, but she strikes me as someone who is merely looking for attention, personally I like John better and believe he should be the main character. So why not just replace Jack with somebody who is more likable. This show is somewhat boring anyway and Jack would not be missed.

Telling someone about the size of your penis is not exactly hitting on someone. Also, he was a producer and should not have hit on her in the first place. There is a time and place for everything.

Not surprised at all. He always seems sleazy. I never liked the way he pretended to be fool by Angela to exploit the story for his original documentary. And also claiming to be in self defense when he was expelled by college for punching a woman.
This is one of my favorite shows and I don’t believe this accusation one bit.

This person is simply trying for her 15 minutes of fame. Nev and Max both ALWAYS conduct themselves in a perfectly respectful, responsible, caring manner!!! Nev is very clear about attempting to help both parties in every episode. He is always mentioning his “lovely wife and daughter!” This girl is trying to ruin his life and reputation over LIES. Look what Nev has at home. . . he doesn’t need to be hitting on someone like her. 😏 I just want to know if he was so bad and you were so uncomfortable, why were you alone with him without anyone else being there? Really liked both of them. Sorry to hear about the show being suspended. Don’t believe Nev would have done those things he was accused of. Please bring Nev back. He was able to understand situations & verbalize guests emotions & feelings. So enjoyed the interaction between Nev & Max. Management should have more faith & trust in their employment.

I don’t believe for a moment that Nev would ever disrespect anyone for that matter any woman.. He seems to be a very respectful and professional gentleman..People will always talk for one reason or another about a stellar person just to bring them down for their own selfish reasons..He is a good young man that seems to be a very happily married family man..
I cannot believe that behavior could come from squeaky clean Nev. If it were true i would be crushed to the core and lose all faith in humanity. I don’t believe this woman at all. I have watched all episodes and Nev is a caring person. Bring the show back as we loved watching the process and outcome. I like Kamie as the co-host. I do miss Max. Come on MTV. Nev is a happy family man. This woman is lying
