The necessity of nature
The alarming loss of biodiversity, degradation of the earth’s soil, and increasing water scarcity must be reversed – for the health of the planet and society.
Biodiversity loss is also an emerging risk to our business as we depend on, and affect, the natural world across our value chain.
Implementing regenerative agriculture practices, for example, isn’t just good for nature – it can help communities adapt to climate change and make our supply chains more resilient.
Protecting and regenerating
Our goals are in place to help us become a better steward of nature.
We’re focusing on the areas where we can have the most impact and which also help to mitigate the impacts of climate change. This includes ensuring that our primary deforestation-linked commodity supply chains are deforestation-free and reshaping our global agricultural supply chain infrastructure.
It also means regenerating agricultural systems to protect and restore soil health and biodiversity – improving land and livelihoods. And it means preserving water by tackling shared water challenges both within and beyond our operations.

It’s in our nature
Protecting and regenerating nature takes a multipronged approach.
We’re investing in infrastructure and technology for our primary deforestation-linked commodities. We’re also working to reduce emissions and preserve nature with farmers and commodity suppliers.
By working closely with others – suppliers, industry partners, regulators and governments – we can deliver more impact.
Alongside this, we’re stepping up our advocacy for regulations that protect ecosystems and promote regenerative agriculture.
