Michael Mosley has joined MGM‘s action-comedy “Don’t Mess With Texas” opposite Reese Witherspoon and Sofia Vergara.

Universal Pictures won the rights to the project last June with Witherspoon and Vergara already set to star. MGM picked up “Don’t Mess” when it went into turnaroud and is fully financing.

David Feeney and John Quaintance wrote the script about a cop (Witherspoon) and a prisoner (Vergara) on the run in Texas, with cops in hot pursuit. Mosley will portray a cool detective.

Producers are Dana Fox along with Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea for their Pacific Standard production company.

Mosley stars in USA Network’s sitcom “Sirens” along with Kevin Daniels and Kevin Bigley. Other credits include “Scrubs,” “Justified,” “30 Rock,” “Last Resort” and  “Castle.”

He is repped by Gersh and Smith Talent Group
