The AT-AT in 100 Words

As imposing and inspired as they are impractical – seriously, wouldn’t any given AT-AT landing/unloading zone on a contested planet be pretty much a turkey shoot until the suckers were up and running out of whatever massive cargo ship could get down planetside to deliver them? – the All-Terrain Armored Transports are perhaps the single strongest design element in all of Star Wars, with the possible exceptions of Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers. Part tank, part dinosaur, part long-legged cat-looking thing, they were custom-built to stomp across the imaginations of a generation, one awesome Kenner AT-AT toy at a time.
