This is the story of a young man who was contacted by a group of discarnate spiritual beings in 1979 and then regularly spoken to over the following 21 years. It describes the spiritual training given by these Masters, for that is what they were, and offers teachings which, coming from the perspective of transcendent reality, are suitable for any spiritual seeker at any level. The book includes discussion of many different aspects of the spiritual path as well as elucidation of occasionally controversial points such as the nature of the ego, the problem of evil, the meaning of mystical experiences and the function of teachers, all in a form that combines simplicity with depth. Misconceptions abound as to what the spiritual path really is but here is an original depiction of authentic Masters and their teachings based on 30 years experience.

Product description

Review

This is definitely a serious book for serious spiritual seekers. It is full of hope and inspiration, and grabs the reader at a very personal level. It's not your usual "New Age" love-and-light trip into feel-good land. It is full of depth and is a good read. My initial hesitation over the steep cover price for a paperback was overcome with the rich content. (Anita Burns, The Messenger) I must admit that this 394 page spiritual tell-all of a life awakened was completely spellbinding. Written in first person the thing that spoke to me the loudest was the honest walk through one life altering change to another. I don't think anyone of us are ever really ready for our connection to spirit no matter how sought after it is. So the courage and strength it took our precious seeker to move forward was clearly evident. (Riki Frahmann, Mystic Living Today)

The positive reviews are all correct and do not exaggerate. This is truly a special book, a labour of love and a handbook for those on the spiritual path. No spiritual soundbites or flash bang pyrotechnics - just honest and insightful writing, clear and concise . I had this book in my wish list and am not sure why as I am not impressed usually with"channeling" but this is very different. I bought the book on an impulse I still cannot fully explain although the positive reviews were probably a major factor. A painfully honest account of a truly extraordinary experience. When the author's public teaching begins and when this book receives the attention and publicity it deserves the message that it bears will encourage all true seekers on the path to dig deep and find resources they scarcely imagined were there. The author has the gift of clarifying and expanding esoteric thought without over-simplification.

This book is an honest, personal account of how spiritual revelation can reach you. The author has such a gentle way of bringing the truth out without ever discounting the doubts that are a part of that.

Reminiscent of the Boy and the Brothers.

Like that book it has injunctions as to what to do - be humble, ignore negativity etc, and next to no advice on how to realistically apply the teachings.

I feel the Masters need to reincarnate, and remind themselves what it's like to have a physical body, then their teachings would hopefully be more useful.

They would benefit from modern discoveries on psychology.

An interesting and thoughtful book, plenty of material to reflect on further. It is accessible and well-written, chronicling the author's personal journey as he leaves the life expected of him behind and sets out on a new spiritual path guided by the words of the Masters. The descriptions of his time in India are lovely. I'm really glad I read it.

There is so much in this fascinating book for any seeker on the spiritual path. The most important thing being honesty. It contains a great deal of personal information and the constant effort to offer the truth shines through it all. I could see the sometime struggle, the moments of disappointment, as well as the leaps forward and that gives me hope and encourages me to carry on making my own small efforts and I would hope it would do the same for others looking to find meaning and to connect with something more than just the materiality of existence. I was absolutely gripped by the messages from The Masters and I was grateful for the conclusions often drawn on matters such as the body and sex. I've read other channelled works but for me, this is the best I've come across. Other books have been too impersonal to resonate with me and often the language has been difficult to grasp. Sometimes they have been far too complex or too simple. This is a book that has exactly the right balance. The material is often far from simple but it is presented in language which is easy to understand. I will refer to it often, when I'm struggling and when I have my moments of progression also. I can't recommend it enough.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent for sincere spiritual 'seeker'

After not having read a spiritual book for some years now (this fell away naturally..seems to happen as we mature, as we start living less from the mind and more from the heart), Meeting the Masters 'came' to me. Thanks dear Lord/Life. An honest, real, mature account of what the spiritual path is and what is required of us: "Spirituality = submission + surrender + sacrifice" and "you cannot transcend the self until you have fully purified the self" (quotes from the book). Certainly the ego will not be transcended otherwise. The book is relevant to all of us seeking to grow in peace and love, it covers practical aspects of our every day lives; relationships, sex, suffering and meeting life's challenges, dealing with and overcoming our and others' weaknesses and much more. The words straight from the Masters priceless. Truly a useful, encouraging, well written book for those who really want freedom and are willing to earn it. Will read it again and again. Blessings William

I did'nt enjoy this book at all. Really struggled to finish it. Very hard to really get into and stay focused. There was no plot to the story.
