Garbage

I was hugely disppointed that Garbage cancelled a couple of years ago when they were supposed to tour with Blondie. As it happens, it worked out well. They headlined their own tour this time and having been a fan for amny years, I finally got to see them. The support came from up and coming Scottish band Lucia and the Best Boys and the interesting and unsusual Jehnny Beth. Garbage delivered two and a half hours of blistering Rock. The band isbrilliant at producing alsmost studio quality sound live and fronted by Shirley's soaring vocals suffused with power and menace. Many of their songs are angry about something or other and always thought provoking. Shirley had a lot to say, and her position on women in the music industry is forthright and backed by her actions. The support bands were both fronted by women. She also mentioned that they were terrified of performing in London as they had always felt their performances here had been "duds". Not this time. They were so excited by the reaction they were getting that they ran slightly over time. I am sure they would have gone on for longer if they could. I felt royally entertained and provoked in equal measure. With an eighth album being worked on I can only hope they return to London soon. I will be in the audience when they do.

Another incredible show! Time marches on and youth may be fleeting but for Garbage, age is just a number. They continue to go hard and never fail to steal a show. I've always considered them to be a supergroup of sorts. And when they take the stage, you don't know this, you feel this truth about them. But that doesn't mean they play in a way that condescends in any manner of speaking. No, they command attention but they "melt faces" as the kids say these days, with aplomb. This is a powerful piece of art in motion. There's passion and anger but it's still rock. It's 90s to now alternative that is unapologetic. It's seering and brash but with care and precision. Garbage albums are always seamless experiences. Polished gems of musical craftsmanship and the live experience is no less brilliant. To say they are exactly like the record though, not at all. They shake it up. They keep you on your toes as it were. From alternate bass lines or changed timing, they never lose the grit but the live experience is such that you walk away needing to relisten to the catalogue. I say all of this with an odd caveat, I've only ever seen them open for others. For such a powerhouse of musicians to always be the bridesmaid is a bit odd but, in a sense, I think it works. They were such an integral part of my musical teenage years that I can't separate them from the pther bands I listened to at the time. And for that, having them as the opener for any band of that era or genre will always work. Just be warned, they steal the show. You may go a fan of whatever band or artist was the headliner but you'll leave a Garbage fan. Amd if you go as a fan, your appreciation will only increase. Side note, bonus points for them stopping to help a fan that was having an issue. Directing the crowd and alerting staff to help them was huge. They aren't just people, they are also genuinely cool people. Cool people that make amazing music.

Garbage never disappoints. Shirley gives emotion, sincerity, and energy to every song; she truly is a goddess. Shirley looked and sounded amazing. The air quality was dangerous in Chicago, but they played anyway...I was grateful. I will always see Garbage.

Metric was great, Garbage was okay I was very sad because the last show I went to in 2019 was one of the best concerts I have gone to. I really hyped them up to my husband and I was a bit disappointed.

Garbage is one of my top 5 live bands. They always sound great, and that have so many great songs to choose from for their sets. While there's always songs I wish they would have played, I can't say there's ever been one I didn't want to hear. I dig their different versions of songs live too.

Shirley Manson is an amazing performer and so cool. We had lawn seats and when it started pouring rain they had everyone come inside. While we were waiting a super nice lady gave us her seats and we ended up having a pretty nice view of the stage!

Garbage was fantastic. Shirley is always awesome. Love her fighting spirit. The venue is okay. Decent options - pretzels way too salty and tacos way too tiny but there are plenty of other foods. Alcohol is expensive, but the frozen vodka lemonade drinks are very good. Had some very annoying issues with people around us during Alanis's set, but luckily not during Garbage. (I like Alanis, but much more into Garbage, so at least I got to enjoy the set I was more interested in.)

Garbage was awesome! The sound was killer, the band was great and Shirley was amazing. Just a great set. We actually went as my wiife wanted to see Alanis. Alanis was good but Garbage was better on many different levels! The level of professionalism and sound quality was night and day. Garbage should have been the headliner. My wife is a new Garbage fan now!

Garbage had been a bucket list group for me and they absolutely did not disappoint. I wish their set could have been longer but they were opening up for Alanis Morissette who also exceeded my expectations with a great set too.

This band never disappoints. I’ve been a fan since the beginning, and they remain one of my favorites. Happy to hear tunes both old and new. And the way lead singer Shirley took the time to make sure her audience had a good time and was safe is why I love her. Can’t wait until the next show. 💜💜💜💜

This is the 3rd time seeing Garbage and have loved every time!! I wish they would have started a bit later when the sun went down:-( The Concord Pavillion while the sun is setting is not the best time to play! They sounded great but barely played an hour:-(( Felt like they just kinda were there but not really there! I will see them every time they come around still:-))

Always good to see Garbage and this time was no exception. Performing Version 2.0 in its entirety (not in order which is nice) plus some B-sides made for a unique show. Shirley and Co. were on top of their game!

They KILLED it, as always. Lots of bad vibes surrounding the show. You could tell Shirley was feeling it. But they played beautifully, and in the end it was a spectacular performance. Love you, Garbage

Fantastic show!! Garbage is always great to see live but last night's show was truly special. On the lawn at the cemetery on a beautiful california night. A friendly happy Garbage loving crowd except the guy who threw a beer at the stage. Shirley verbally ripped into the guy and had security eject him. And of course the feisty, outspoken, humble, beautiful front woman Shirley who seemed to be enjoying the show as much as the audience did.

Excellent show. Energetic, engaging. For this Strange Little Birds tour, they seemed to use pre-recorded tracks less than the did for the previous Not Your Kind of People tour, and played their instruments more. This changed the sound a bit, making it deviate from the original recording, but giving it a much stronger rock feel.

As a loyal fan of the band, I can only say good things about the band and the show. It was an amazing setlist bringing old loved tunes back to life (The Trick Is to Keep Breathing, Sex Is Not the Enemy). Shirley's messages were also emotional and always encouraging to embrace ourselves. Great night for a greater band!

The band sounded great. Shirley sounded & looked amazing. Venture to say this is the best Garbage has ever been. The only thing that kept it from being a perfect show was that Butch Vig wasn't able to be there due to a serious sinus infection.

band performance was very good, with nice new approaches to the old songs. sound quality of the new venue and installation was extremeny good but the p.a. somehow missed thet they had tuned down Sirley's voice too much. that prevented the full experience for the audience and a 5star rating.
