Southern Charm Alum Danni Baird Is Engaged to Her "Best Friend," Nick Volz
The Charleston native teased when she'll be tying the knot with Nick, whom she shares a son with.
Wedding bells are ringing for Danni Baird! The Southern Charm alum, who appeared on the first seven seasons of the show, announced her engagement to boyfriend and baby's father, Nick Volz, on July 10.
Talking to PEOPLE, Danni shared that Nick popped the question on June 30, when the two were traveling home from Lake Keowee with their six-month-old son, Jackson "Yates" Volz.
"We had just driven five hours back from Lake Keowee, where we were visiting my parents, and he was like, 'Do you want to go for a stroll at the Battery?'" she recalled to the outlet about how her financier fiancé proposed. "And I thought he just wanted to stretch his legs, but next thing I knew I turned around and he was down on one knee, telling me, 'This is long overdue.'"
As Danni explained, the two had actually planned on tying the knot in a courthouse before their son was born, but Yates made his arrival two-and-a-half weeks before his due date.
As a result, Nick and Danni decided to hold off on eloping, and have more of a traditional wedding down the road.

Speaking about how she knew Nick was "the one" soon after they met at a mutual friend's birthday party about two years ago, Danni said that the two had a lot in common right off the bat. They're both from the Charleston area, they're around the same age (Danni is 40, while Nick is 39), and they both had Australian Shepherds.
"He's my best friend," she explained. "He's such an authentic person; so lovable and kind. And he's super hot, so that helps!"
"I just knew that he was my person," she added.
When is Danni Baird getting married?
Though Danni and Nick just got engaged, the parents are looking to make things official sooner rather than later. Danni told PEOPLE that the couple plans to tie the knot before their son turns one in December 2024.
"We have a couple of months to plan it, but we'll keep things small," she said.

Nick and Danni became parents around the holidays, but Danni didn't publicly share details about welcoming her son until April 2024.
She confirmed the exciting news on Instagram on April 26. “Hello World! My big media debut has been lonnnnng overdue!” -Yates," Danni captioned a carousel of images of her son. "I’m dumbstruck that our little man, Yates, turned 4 months old this week!! He has brought us more joy and love than we could EVER have imagined. He’s absolutely perfect."
During her chat with PEOPLE, Danni opened up about her son.
"He’s absolutely perfect — the best Christmas present you could ever imagine," she told the outlet. "He's the cutest, most handsome little boy and just fills our lives with so much love and joy every day."
She also revealed that Nick was the one who chose the name Yates.
"It's not a family name. As soon as he said it, I was like, 'I love this because A, I didn't have to think about it; B, I don't know anybody by that name; and C, it came from him.' So it was an immediate yes," she said. "And then when I was in labor, Nick was like, 'What if we name him Jackson Yates but call him Yates' and I was like, 'We'll name him whatever you want, just let me birth this baby!'"
