SNL Has Never Had a Single Latina Cast Member

We all know Chilean Horatio Sanz from Saturday Night Live, but can you name a Latina on the show? No, because there never was one. Not one.

According to the National Hispanic Foundation For the Arts, Sanz — who left the show in 2006 — is the only prominent Latino character on the show. The organization wrote a letter to SNL's Lorne Michaels about featuring more Latinos and graciously added (which we can't stress enough) that having non-Latino actors play Latinos on the show doesn't cut it. Fred Armisen is Latino but doesn't play one on the show and Cecily Strong, a non-Latina, plays a Latina on the show. What's wrong with this picture? Um, everything.

It's time for the show to update its cast. SNL recently got bashed for its lack of African American characters too. It's just play cray that after 39 seasons we haven't seen ONE Hispanic woman on the show. Can someone PLEASE get Boricua Aubrey Plaza on this? Thanks.
