We're just days away from God of War's latest and long-awaited release on the PlayStation 4, so it's only natural that talk soon turns to a potential movie, right?

As excitement for the eighth instalment in the hugely popular hack and slash franchise reaches fever pitch, we reckon there's no time like the present for a big-screen adaptation.

And we know just the man.

Jason Momoa is known for being an all-round bad-ass who embodies the alpha role with ease (hello, Game of Thrones, Aquaman and Frontier), so it makes sense that God of War's Kratos is on his list of dream roles.

While appearing at a Comic Con event last year, Jason was asked by a fan if he was familiar with the God of War series when he revealed that he would "love to play [Kratos]" (via LADbible).

"If Sony ever contacted you, would you consider playing him?" the fan asked, before Jason immediately hit back with: "Hell yeah."

Jason Momoa as Spartan warrior Kratos? Uh, yes please.

However, when a God of War film fronted by Momoa could be made is a different matter altogether, as it looks like his schedule is filling up now that The Crow is actually happening.

The Crow has been in development for over a decade, but last month Sony Pictures announced that a Corin Hardy-led reboot is scheduled for release in October of next year.

Corin, director of horror hit The Nun, joined the project in 2017, and re-envisioned The Crow the story for Jason Momoa in the lead role.

Jason Momoa will return to screens as the King of Atlantis when Aquaman opens in cinemas in December this year.
