Tobias Menzies has addressed whether we'll actually see Edmure Tully in Game of Thrones season eight.

We last saw poor Edmure back in season six when he was used by Jaime Lannister to take over Riverrun, before being returned to being Walder Frey's prisoner which he became after the infamous Red Wedding.

Of course, Walder – and most of the Freys – are now dead at the hands of Arya, so is Edmure still stuck in that prison?

"The honest answer is, I have no idea. He's obviously somewhere in a prison, he's still around alive somewhere. They're pretty stingy with their information and I've not heard anything from them," Menzies told Digital Spy and other press.

"I feel like they have so many stories to tie up, whether that's a story they'll want to go back to, I don't know."

We can't even look to the books for some guidance as Edmure is still a prisoner in those, only of House Lannister at Casterly Rock, so maybe we can just assume that something similar has happened in the show if we don't hear from him again.

Talking of returns, Menzies also spoke about whether he'll be in the second series of The Night Manager as British intelligence director Geoffrey Dromgoole, saying that there's been "no" approach so far.

"You do hear stories that they want to try and find another story out of it but I've not heard anything. Of course, I would love to [come back]," he explained.

Tobias Menzies stars in The Terror, airing on AMC in the US and beginning April 24 on AMC on BT TV.
