Naturally, with the third season of The Bear comes new menswear grails that we see on Carmy Berzatto and immediately take to the Internet to find. I mean, the guy might need some work in the areas of communication and coming to terms with some serious generational trauma, but if he’s got one thing down pat, it’s his style.

In seasons past, Carmy has given us some truly unparalleled finds. The perfect white tee from Merz b. Schwanen, a coveted (and very much sold out) patchwork jacket by NN07, and some vintage 1950s Levi’s that’ll run you about 2,500 bucks.

And in season 3, the Bear himself did not disappoint—Carmy donned the Cotton Deck Jacket by RRL—Ralph’s line of extra-Americana-y, heritage-inspired clothing—and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

Because The Bear has been out for only a little over a week, I’ll refrain from spoilers, but let me set a very vague scene for you. The season’s penultimate episode features a surprisingly sentimental conversation between Carmy and his uncle Cicero; Carmy, hosing down his yard, is clad in this RRL jacket, looking so damn chic and cool in it that the permanent sadness in his eyes is actually tampered down for a second.

I mean, it is a damn cool jacket, made even cooler now that it’s got The Bear’s stamp of approval. The nautical-inspired navy number is ruggedly handsome, with Ralph Lauren’s ever-present Americana look complemented by Japanese buttons, a fine-wale corduroy collar, and a tough grosgrain-weave fabric. The interior is half-lined, too—good enough for a cold Chicago winter or a less-cold-but-still-cold Chicago spring.

It’s good to know that even if our boy Carm is always one undercooked wagyu away from having a complete and total mental breakdown, at least he’ll be looking good when the breakdown comes.
