Sharon Stone - H 2015
AP ImagesSharon Stone has signed on to star in Running Wild, a drama from ESX Entertainment, a newly launched production banner that focuses on inspirational stories.
Alex Ranarivelo (The Wrong Side of Right) is directing the film from a script by Christina Moore and Brian Rudnick.
Wild is being financed and produced by ESX’s Forrest Lucas, who is the founder of Lucas Oil, and race car driver-turned-producer Ali Afshar. Moore is co-producer.
According to ESX, the script centers on a widow who saves her ranch by working with convicts to rehabilitate a herd of wild horses that wandered onto her property. She faces prejudice, greed, bureaucracy and vanity — including her own — to finally understand that there is no better remedy to misfortune than helping another living creature.
Stone will play the main antagonist.
Production is due to start later this week in Napa, Calif.
The goal of ESX is to tell stories that are tied to the traditional and inspirational themes of the American dream. Lucas also runs a nonprofit organization named Protect the Harvest that is tied to ESX.
Stone’s last feature appearances included 2013’s Gods Behaving Badly and John Turturro’s Fading Gigolo, in which she starred with Woody Allen and Liev Schreiber.
She is repped by the Gersh and Binder & Associates.
