Joan Kroc left the largest bequest in public radio history to NPR in 2003, marking a transformational moment for public radio. To honor her enduring generosity, those who establish a bequest or other planned gift of $1,000,000 or more to NPR are considered part of the Joan Kroc Circle.

Kroc's gift set a clear example of what is possible through the power of planned giving: a prudent, convenient and flexible way to ensure that NPR and public radio remain a vital source of thoughtful, thorough journalism; rich storytelling; and cultural programming far into the future.

Although unrestricted gifts offer the greatest flexibility, it is possible for a donor to help support particular funds, initiatives or areas of coverage that include:

• Arts and Culture
• Business
• Education
• Environment
• Diversity
• Health
• Innovation
• International
• Internships
• Politics and Public Affairs
• Religion
• Science
• Technology
