Chloe Moretz in talks for ‘Maggie’

'Dark Shadows' thesp would join Paddy Considine in zombie movie

After playing a vampire and a werewolf, “Dark Shadows” star Chloe Moretz is in negotiations to complete the terrifying trifecta and play a zombie alongside Paddy Considine in “Maggie,” which Inferno Entertainment will finance and handle international sales for at Cannes.

Commercial helmer Henry Hobson will make his feature directorial debut working with a Black List script from John Scott 3.

Set against the backdrop of a zombie apocalypse, story concerns a father’s unconditional love for his daughter. Considine is in talks to play the father, while Moretz would play his titular daughter.

Pierre-Ange Le Pogam is producing the $10 million pic, which is skedded to start production in September. Matthew Baer and Trevor Kaufman will co-produce. CAA is repping domestic rights to “Maggie.”

Inferno is also handling international sales for “Grace of Monaco,” which as Variety first reported, will star Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly, who helped shape a nation after her storybook wedding to the Prince of Monaco.

Olivier Dahan is directing the $30 million pic from a script by Arash Amel, and Le Pogam is planning a September start date.

Additionally, Inferno will be selling “Pinocchio,” a stop-motion animated film that Guillermo del Toro will co-direct with Mark Gustafson. The Henson Company and Exile Entertainment are producing.

The three projects are intended to bolster Inferno’s strategy of targeting each market with a handful of quality pics.

Previous markets saw Inferno financing and selling Joe Carnahan’s “The Grey,” Andrew Niccol’s adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s novel “The Host” and Brad Pitt-starrer “Killing Them Softly.”

Moretz, who previously starred in “Let Me In” and will next be seen in Tim Burton’s “Dark Shadows,” is attached to topline MGM’s “Carrie” remake, as well as Karyn Kusama’s indie “The Rut.”

Moretz is repped by WME and 3 Arts Entertainment. Considine is repped by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Troika.

Hobson is repped by Caliber Media.
