New bar that opened on Polk St! Love how this place felt like a true speakeasy: passcode needed to enter, very intimate and cozy inside. Definitely on the smaller end though, and the lines get long on the weekends. Great music, really good date spot.
The drinks are Asian inspired, soo good and creative. We got the monkey king, blind pig, hong dou, white dragon horse, and hot and sour. All were delicious. the bartender is so nice and hospitable! He must be protected at all costs. Loved our time there, will definitely have to come back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 3, 20241 check-in
Cute, quaint and intimate. Staying true to the prohibition era. If you don't know, no entry.
I would recommend this place as maybe a starter or first date kinda place. Pro Tip: it does get pretty warm inside, so if you run hot, this is not the place for you. The theme was super thoughtful, the drinks served were exciting and the service was fantastic. Word to the wise: be patient bro, if you are pressed for time and get upset because not all of the attention is on you, then move on. But, if you're in it to just relax and enjoy your company with some fun drink, then join in!
Bonus points - I didnt quite see what I wanted to try so I said "anytime with gin". To my surprise gin sweet and sour was actually pretty good! Thanks!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 30, 2024
This was a fun find just before a show at The Great American Music Hall. Ring the bell, give the password, and enter. The cocktails were Asian-inspired and many of them involve for and ceramic pigs. The menu is even printed on a folding fan. The drinks were unique and tasty, the service was excellent, the space was quaint, and the atmosphere was chill.
Hint: You can find the weekly password on The Blind Pig Instagram page.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 4293293153Jul 28, 20242 check-ins
I love a good speakeasy, especially if it is Asian influenced! I visited Blind PIg back when they had their Chinatown location. I was so sad when they closed down but glad to see they found a new spot on Polk.
My friends and I visited on a Saturday before it got too busy. I think they only have 2 staff working the entire bar, covering all resonsibilities so things can be a bit slow. Since it is a speakeasy with a password, the door was locked - the window is perched open so the bartenders can see if guests are waiting outside but I think we waited for over 5 mins until someone came to greet us at the door.
They have a super cool menu, which is handwritten on a fan - huge props for them for going through all the work. Our group tried a variety of drinks - my first drink was the Pig steal my purple corn. It comes in a cute pig cup. It was tasty but I couldn't really taste the pineapple bun, which is what intruiged me. For my second drink, I tried the Blind Pig which I really liked. It is very unique - there is truly a mapo tofu after taste at the end which was quite nice; when you first drink it, you can definitely taste the mango and plum wine which is very tasty.
If I'm around Polk, this is definitely spot I would revisit. The space is quite small though, so I would imagine it gets quite busy later in the night.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 19, 2024Updated review
Updating my initial impression:
Piggy Wuneng is now Zhu Ba Jie, still in my top 3 picks.
My current favourites are:
1. Hot & Sour
2. Blind Pig
3. Zhu Ba Jie
But at this point I think I've tried everything on their standard menu and I would order everything on there, really depending on my mood.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0May 3, 2024Previous reviewGotta be my favourite cocktails in the city. The asian flavours are really unique, and the presentation is really awesome. And beyond the incredible flavours, the bartenders took the time to explain the processes and science used to make each cocktail! True to being a speakeasy, it's definitely lowkey, hard to find and provides great ambience.
My top recommendations so far: the Hot & Sour (you can taste the hot pot!) and the Piggy Wuneng (that unique premium honey taste shines through) - Jul 12, 2024
We decided to check out this speakeasy last minute and I was very impressed!
You need a "password" to get in, so make sure to look it up on Instagram before knocking!
The menu is fun and the drinks are not the most traditional which makes it fun! They make a lot of their syrups and juices and drinks are all inspired by food!
The service and presentation is all so cute! I'd go back!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Fabio M.San Francisco, CA096Aug 11, 2024
I was there just before hitting the club - had 5 drinks with my partner - all of them were amazing! It's definitely a must go, I had the best drinks ever, and I've been to speakeasies in Dublin, Tel Aviv, London, NY - this one for sure beats all of them! The service was the best and the environment is super cozy!

Came to the blind pig for the first time on a Saturday night for a party of 4. We honestly had so much fun at this speakeasy. Leo and Pedro are some of the kindest bartenders we have met in such a long time. Their attention to detail explaining every drink to us and making recommendations for what to drink next was phenomenal. Usually speakeasy in SF are so loud but not in this case. My group had such a good time talking to the bartenders, jamming to the music/playing the music recommendations we gave, and drinking the most high quality and thought out alcohol drinks.
Make sure you get here early to sit at the bar because it is the best experience you can get to be with the bar tenders. Being able to learn how all the cocktails are made and thought out makes the experience so much better. Pedro and Leo made my group feel like family and they genuinely took the time to ensure we had an amazing experience.
Since we were a group of 4 we're able to try several drinks like the hot and sour, piggy, hi chew for pig, hong dou, blind pig, TP gimlet, and pig steal. Our favorites were definately the recommendations the bartenders gave which were the blind pig and the hot and sour. Strong flavorful drinks without being too sweet.
To top it all off, despite how busy they were, They even took the time to bring out a little birthday surprise for my friend before we left.
There may be long wait times at times but it's due to the phenomenal customer service this place strives to give to everyone that enters the bar. Patience is key as it's just the two of them when we went but regardless it was well worth the wait and experience for us. We will 100% be going back to this speakeasy. Thank you Leo and Pedro for such a fun and amazing time!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Marinel A.San Mateo, CA21529Jul 28, 2024
Pedro and Leo were hands down the main reason my experience here was so amazing with impeccable service. All the drinks my friends and I had were so good and so innovative!
