California Detailing

I don't have any pictures that'll do any justice so I'll start off describing the initial condition of my truck.

I had recently purchased an off white 1997 Toyota Land Cruiser with over 160,000 miles on it. For the age and amount of miles it was in fairly good shape. The exterior had a couple nicks on the outside shell of the mirror and some fading on the bumpers. The rest of the paint was not dull at all. Overall a 8.5 out of 10. The interior was a little worse off. The leather was hard and in a few areas and was starting to show signs of tearing. Some of the seats had stains. The carpet was stained. Rear sliding windows were difficult to open/close as there was dirt in the window jams. Some plastic moldings had scratches and wear on them. Interior was a 6.5 or 7 out of 10.

My goal was to have the truck detailed to bring it back to original, new condition as much as possible. I did some research on auto detailing shops around the City and what attracted me to California Detailing was the promise of using aircraft grade wax and the 5 star yelp reviews. I gave Jim a call, and described my truck to him. Initially, he was a bit weary of working on it since it is a fairly old vehicle and he wasn't sure if they would be able to detail it to the level I would expect. He asked me to bring it in to take a look. I did and apparently it wasn't in such a crappy condition that they couldn't work on it so I scheduled an appointment. Also, they quoted me a price that was very similar to the other high end detailing shops in SF. However, they only accept cash or check(a little inconvenient but fine with me). Carlos told me it would take about a day and it would be better if I could pick it up the next day. That was fine with me and when I left they had already started working on it.

The next day, I came in to pick it up and was blown away! The exterior was immaculate! The headlights were super clear(even though I didn't notice any oxidation before). The paint had a real nice shine to it. Definitely a 10 out of 10. I don't think a new car would look any better. The interior was also amazing! It looked like they went through every little nook and cranny(even the window jams). The carpets and leather were no longer stained. The leather was softer and the cracks and tears that were starting to show looked like they were receding. I was very impressed. Interior is now 8.5 or 9 out of 10. I don't think it could be any better unless I bought the plastic moldings or seats and replaced them.

If you have an older vehicle and want to see it basically restored with a deep clean, I highly recommend California Detail.

An exceptional car detail shop. Jim, Carlos and the team were absolutely over the top with their customer service and finished work.
We were in an unexpected situation as paint was thrown onto our vehicle in the early morning commute.
After checking YELP, we came across CA Detail and Jim responded to our call right away. We explained our predicament and he said he could help as he has handled similar issues. In fact an earlier model of our vehicle was in his shop for a similar situation which reassured us that we chose the right shop for our needs.
We got a reasonable quote considering the amount of labor that will and was involved to meticulously remove the paint and restore the vehicle.
In a matter of a few days, over a holiday weekend, the vehicle was returned back to us in a shape that looked better than new. We were happily surprised and delighted with the results.
Shop was clean, staff was friendly, work was exceptional, customer service was friendly and responsive, pricing was more than fair considering the results.

Rock solid shop. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for and there's an excellent reason for the consistently high ratings. Jim was really friendly and took me through the shop to view some of the ongoing / completed work. It all looked top-notch.

I had them ceramic coat my truck around the 2 year mark of owning it from new. Came out beautiful and the coating has held up well.

At that time I also asked about detailing it. Mind you, I keep the truck in really good condition. Jim looked it over and instead of up-selling me, told me to hold off until it really needs a deep cleaning.

I have a 2008 BMW that unfortunately with all the rain leaked and a LOT of water got into my car. Like a 2-3 inch deep puddle. I got the actual leak fixed and diagnosed elsewhere, but needed it to be professionally deep cleaned and dried after. I reached out to Jim by text and heard back within an hour. He was very attentive to what I was telling him and was giving me genuine solutions for my problem. He even referred me to some other businesses that may be able to help. His follow up was also great and I could tell he genuinely cares about his customers. Being a young woman and having bad experiences elsewhere when it comes to my car, I felt like I was in great hands.

I was quoted a very fair price, took my car in, and they did a fantastic job. Carlos was also very nice and communicative as well. He texted me photos of my car being dried and the process so I was reassured that everything was getting taken of correctly.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone for any kind of detailing service, small or large (like my situation).

Had some wall paint transfer over to the front left bumper due to a scrape. Carlos took me in the same day I called and fixed the issue within an hour. He was very honest with me and said he'd do what he can to remove the paint. If there were deep scratches, he suggested he'd recommend someone who professionalizes in fixing that. Luckily that wasn't needed due to his great work. Was happy to pay the $95. Pleasant interaction as well. Would definitely recommend.

These folks are the best at what they do. They are super nice, responsive and do incredible work. My car looked better than it did when it was brand new. I 100% recommend California Detailing and plan to bring my car back again and again again for their wonderful service.

Took my Telsa Y in for the second time since I originally had a Ceramic Pro Clear Coat applied to the car over two years ago. The car was recently keyed. Fortunately, the clear coat took most of the damage. Carlos and Jim were very responsive and their team was able to remove the damage and apply a new layer of clear coat. I wholeheartedly recommend this shop. They care and their product is excellent. I couldn't be more pleased.
